| Beginnnings Ballynamona Welsh Ponies had it’s beginning in 1997 with the impulse purchase of a young weanling colt ~ Toorvale Cadenza. It saw us make a full-circle return back to showing ponies again after a lengthy break of many years. The "Ballynamona" prefix is derived from the name of our historic house located at Steiglitz, Victoria, Australia and it was the prefix we had previously used for our Corriedale Sheep Stud. We are a family run stud, our emphasis is placed firmly on breeding Section B Welsh Ponies with outstanding temperament, of top quality, showing true type with good active movement.. In the early years we greatly enjoyed showing our ponies and were successful at Royal and breed show level. Life changes over the last decade demanded a new set of priorities for us however the pony thread continues on strongly and is now quietly enjoyed. Our ponies have become well known far and wide for their exceptionally quiet and placid temperament, adaptability, ease of training and good looks. Easy-going and of calm nature ensure that our ponies are suitable for children and adults alike to love, enjoy and take great pleasure in owning. Ballynamona Welsh Ponies are well socialised from birth with all basic handling established so resulting in a calm and responsive pony suitable for further training towards any chosen discipline. Youngsters are usually available for sale and offered at realistic prices. Occasionally we can offer started saddle ponies suitable for child riders. See Saleslist Page for the details of ponies we may currently have offered for sale. Visitors are always welcome at Ballynamona, we encourage you to come out and meet our ponies. We are located at Teesdale Victoria Australia in the sheep and cropping district of the Golden Plains Shire. Half an hour west of Geelong and one and half hours from Melbourne CBD.
